Your adventure begins with a pickup from your resort or by meeting us at our tour shop. Pickup times will be provided based on your location. We’ll start the day with breakfast before checking in 30 minutes prior to your scheduled flight or water taxi departure. You have two travel options to the mainland: ✈️ Flight Option: A scenic 15-minute flight from San Pedro to Belize City. 🚤 Water Taxi Option: A 1.5-hour boat ride across the Caribbean Sea to Belize City. Upon arrival in Belize City, you’ll meet your tour guide for the day. From there, it’s approximately a 2-hour drive to the village of Succotz in the Cayo District, home of the Xunantunich Maya Ruins. At the site, your guide will take you on a fascinating walk around the ancient ceremonial center, sharing its rich history. You’ll also have the opportunity to climb the El Castillo temple, which stands approximately 150 ft tall, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and Mopan River. After exploring Xunantunich, we’ll drive about 1 hour to Frank Eddy Village for a traditional Belizean lunch. Following lunch, it’s a 30-minute drive to the Belize Zoo, where you’ll see over 100 species of native wildlife, including jaguars, pumas, tapirs, crocodiles, black and spider monkeys, deer, and many more. All animals in the zoo are either rescued or rehabilitated and live in natural habitats, making it a unique opportunity to observe Belizean wildlife up close. After visiting the zoo, it’s approximately a 1-hour drive to Belize City’s municipal airstrip. You’ll check in for your return flight to San Pedro, where our staff will be waiting to take you back to your resort.
