Experience the best of Belize’s marine life and island charm on this full-day adventure. The tour includes Holchan Marine Reserve, Shark Ray Alley, Coral Garden, snorkeling with manatees, Caye Caulker, seahorses, feeding tarpons, and sunset at Sting Ray City (upon request). Tour Overview: Your day begins with a pickup from your resort or by meeting us at our tour center. From there, it’s about a 15-minute boat ride to your first snorkeling stop: Holchan Marine Reserve. Holchan Marine Reserve: The name “Holchan” comes from the Maya word meaning “small channel.” Here, our guides provide snorkeling equipment and instructions, including a briefing on proper use and safety regulations. You’ll snorkel for approximately 1 hour among schools of snapper, horse-eye jack, spotted eagle rays, barracuda, nurse sharks, butterfly fish, angel fish, and more. Water depth averages 8 ft, giving you a vibrant underwater experience like swimming inside a giant aquarium. Shark Ray Alley: Next, you’ll see the “puppies of the sea”—nurse sharks. These gentle bottom feeders are not predators. You can observe them from the boat or get in the water to snorkel alongside them. Coral Garden: This beautiful patch reef system stretches about one mile, featuring stunning coral formations like elkhorn coral, brain coral, and sea fans. Snorkelers can choose to anchor and swim locally or enjoy drift snorkeling, where you explore freely while the captain follows at a safe distance. Manatee Snorkeling: Your guide will take you to areas where manatees are known to gather. These gentle mammals spend most of their time eating or resting, surfacing every 10–15 minutes to breathe. Snorkel with them and enjoy a peaceful, close encounter. Caye Caulker: Next, visit the charming neighboring island of Caye Caulker, where you can purchase lunch and explore the island. Here, you’ll also feed the tarpons and see seahorses in their natural habitat. Sunset Option: If requested, end your day at Sting Ray City to observe Caribbean and southern stingrays being fed—a magical sunset experience at no extra cost. After your adventure, it’s a 30-minute boat ride back to your resort or hotel. Flexible Schedule: You choose your starting and ending times! Tours can start as early as 7:30 AM and last until sunset. You can spend as much time as you like at each stop, making this a truly customizable experience for you and your family.
