Your tour begins with a pickup from your resort pier or by meeting us at our tour center. Deep-sea fishing takes place outside the barrier reef, approximately 2 to 5 miles offshore. The primary method of fishing is trolling, where lines are set with either artificial bait or the commonly used balihoos. The boat moves at 6–10 knots, depending on the season, while you relax and wait for a bite. When a fish strikes, you’ll hear the line rattle, and our guides will announce, “Fish on!” Your experienced guide will assist you in handling the rod and fighting the fish to ensure an exciting and safe experience. Common catches include: Summer: Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Tuna (Black, Yellow, Big Eye Bonito), Barracuda, Sailfish, and White or Blue Marlin November to February: Wahoo season After approximately 4 hours of fishing, your guide will clean and fillet the fish you wish to keep. Note: Sailfish and White/Blue Marlin are not kept due to conservation regulations.
