Xunantunich Ruins, Ziplining & Cave Tubing Day Tour

Your day begins with a pickup from your resort or by meeting us at our tour shop. Pickup times will be provided based on your location. We’ll start the morning with breakfast before checking in 30 minutes prior to your scheduled flight or water taxi departure. You have two options to reach the mainland: ✈️ Flight Option: A scenic 15-minute flight from San Pedro to Belize City. 🚤 Water Taxi Option: A 1.5-hour boat ride to Belize City. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your licensed tour guide for the day. From Belize City, it’s approximately a 2-hour drive to the village of Succotz in the Cayo District, home to the Xunantunich Maya Ruins. At Xunantunich, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the site, sharing the fascinating history and cultural significance of the ancient Maya city. You’ll also have the opportunity to climb the Temple of the Masonry Altars, which stands approximately 150 ft tall, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding jungle. After exploring the ruins, it’s about a 1-hour drive to Frank Eddy Village for a traditional Belizean lunch. Following lunch, a short 15-minute drive brings you to the adventure zone, where you’ll experience ziplining and cave tubing in the same area. Ziplining: Your guide will introduce you to your zipline instructors and equipment. The course features 6 platforms, starting at 25 ft in height and increasing in size as you progress. The last two lines are 1,000 ft long, providing thrilling views of the lush rainforest. Cave Tubing: After ziplining, your guide will prepare you for cave tubing. A 20–30 minute jungle hike leads to the cave entrance, where your inner tubes will be tied together. You’ll then float through the cave system for approximately 45 minutes, while your guide shares the history and geology of the underground river. After exiting the cave, you’ll continue floating another 20 minutes along the jungle river before reaching the exit. A short 5-minute walk brings you to the facilities, where you can change into dry clothing. From the cave tubing area, it’s about a 1-hour drive to Belize City’s municipal airstrip. You’ll check in for your return flight to San Pedro, where our staff will be waiting to take you back to your resort.
