Altun Ha & Cave Tubing Day Tour

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your resort or by meeting us at our tour shop. Pickup time will be provided based on your location. We’ll first stop for breakfast before checking in at the airport or water taxi terminal, 30 minutes prior to departure. You can choose between two options for your trip to the mainland: ✈️ Flight Option: A quick 15-minute scenic flight from San Pedro to Belize City. 🚤 Water Taxi Option: A 1.5-hour boat ride across the Caribbean Sea to Belize City. Upon arrival in Belize City, you’ll meet your guide for the day. From there, it’s about a 1-hour drive north to the Altun Ha Maya Ruins. Your guide will lead you through this fascinating ancient site, sharing the history and significance of the temples and plazas. You’ll also have the opportunity to climb the Temple of the Masonry Altars, standing 55 ft tall and offering panoramic views of the surrounding rainforest. After exploring Altun Ha, we’ll drive about 1 hour to Frank Eddy Village for a traditional Belizean lunch. From there, it’s a short 15-minute drive to the Cave Tubing site. Your guide will provide you with the necessary equipment, and together you’ll embark on a 20–30 minute jungle hike to reach the entrance of the cave system. Once there, your inner tubes will be tied together, and your guide will lead you on an unforgettable float through the underground river system. As you drift through the caves, your guide will share fascinating stories and history of the area. The tubing experience lasts about 45 minutes inside the caves, followed by another 20-minute float along the open jungle river. At the end of the river, it’s just a 5-minute walk back to the facilities where you can change into dry clothes and freshen up. From there, it’s about a 1-hour drive back to Belize City’s municipal airstrip, where you’ll check in for your return flight to San Pedro. Upon arrival, one of our staff will be waiting to take you back to your resort.
